The base of these two cuts is a solid block wood, old growth Forrest, vintage wood. The printer’s mark found on the side of one of these cuts shows a recognition of value, an acknowledgment of the printer’s significant role in the creative process (beyond value of labor).
The designs are curious. One looks like a handbag or briefcase. The other looks like a pair of harlequin dancers. The dancers measure about 5/16 of an inch wide, the handbag measures about 5/8 of an inch wide.
“Rabbit Test”, 2020
This is a combination of letterpress and Photoshop. The rabbit image is a letterpress print, it was scanned then merged and edited with the image of organs and colorized in Photoshop.
These photos show a child’s toy from the 1960’s. Its a rubber stamp kit with ink pad, and letters of the alphabet. I had one just like it when I was a child. I found this one on eBay while searching for letterpress cuts.
